This week MineLiDAR is supporting one of our clients to define ore and waste as well as ore direction using LiDAR intensity. Let’s see what we have uncovered.

Veins and other intrusive units can show up quite clearly in the point clouds helping to achieve a variety of outcomes. In the first two images the ore zone stands out from the surrounding rock mass whilst a cross cutting vein can also clearly be seen.

The next stope can be extracted with the confidence that the ore is well located and an opportunity to extract additional ore in the wall exists too.
The third image shows a failure area that was scanned with an intrusive dyke sitting in the centre of the failure area. This helped the client to understand the behaviour of the failure area and how to safely bypass the area.

If you have a project where LiDAR intensity may assist feel free to get in touch so we can talk about your project.
